Book Review #2: Cici Reno Knows it All 😬

Title: Cici Reno Knows it All, #MiddleSchoolMatchmaker (BOOK 1)

Author: Kristina Springer

Rating: 😬 (26/50)

Age Range: 3rd-5th grade

Cici RenoCici Reno, a nonchalant 7th grader has very few worries. Cici leads a peaceful and relaxed Middle School lifestyle, often hanging out with her friends and visiting her mother’s yoga studio.

One day Cici’s ridiculously pretty best friend, Aggie asks her to pretend to be her online to impress a crush. Cici says yes, not expecting to go wrong.

Basically, this book goes over the consequences of the internet-and pretending to be someone you’re not. Over the course of the book the characters learn that sometimes you have to do things for yourself.

Thoughts (for after you’re done reading, this contains spoilers)

This was a really bad book. I didn’t believe in any of the characters and the plot was your typical middle school drama scene. Like I need to read a book about that. I don’t even really have a favorite part because it was all a hot mess piled up in a ‘book’. Also, most of the text was in well, text* messages. I have nothing anagainst texting, but it was kind of annoying to read. BTW (by the way) IHA (I hate acronyms).

*Haha see what I did there.

After I was reading the book I wondered if Cici and Drew would eventually end up together, and how Aggie would react if they ever did.

My favorite character was Cici Reno, because how enlightened, clever, and calm she is. Second favorite was probably Drew, because of how kind he was. At least Cici and Drew were believable characters. Aggie seemed completely fake. This book is just sad.

Don’t read this.
